History: Rotary
District 3050’s first all Women Members Rotary Club was chartered on 13th
March 1992, with twenty five professional women under the guidance and
supervision of District Governor Rtn. Dr. Y. S. Kothari with Late Dr. P.
Sundaram (Charter President), G.S.R. was Rtn. N. K. Chajjar. After the
conference held on 10th Jan, 1992, the idea was infused and the matter was
pursued with great zeal and enthusiasm by women from diversified fields
like Doctors, Lawyers, Beauticians, Hoteliers, teachers, Entrepreneurs
etc. Since then in the last 17 years club members have been working for
many communal, vocational, youth, international and club services with
full dedication and determination.
Focus: Mainly
focused for Women, Health & Child service projects: Club is regularly
working on various small projects. Members are committed with their true
dedication and determination to work for betterment and fellowship for
continual support. Time & again Rotary Meera emphasizes on
Save water, save earth, save family.
Club participates in all kinds of RI
programs like Matching Grants, Group study exchange program, Youth
exchange program, Family exchange program & other programs are also well
promoted for cultural & social exchanges. Members enjoy the opportunities
for the promotion of world peace, Fellowship and Understanding.
The Club has been recognized regularly for various awards at Local,
District & R.I. Level. It has received awards for membership development,
extension and retention. For being an outstanding club, ‘President-ship
Award’, ‘Presidents Citation Award’, ‘G.S.R. Award’, for Best vocational,
youth, community, significant achievement and best club awards also from
many years. And all this has been possible with the continual support of
all the members acknowledging the true spirit of Rotary-Accepting it and
Living it. |
